Frequently Asked Questions
The COI program assists with preparation for the licensing state exam, providing you with self-study material and facilitating a schedule conducive for your learning while still working. Once your resident state producer license is approved, you will join a Line of Business that sells products for Medicare Eligible Members. Having a license will allow you to have more opportunities for working with various clients, as compared with non-licensed agents, and potential for advancement in your career.
Everise will cover the cost to register for your pre-licensing self-study materials. Everise will also cover the cost of your State Exam and any fingerprinting that may be applicable. Please note that some fingerprint fees cannot be paid in advance. In these instances, you will be required to pay at the time of service and submit a receipt to the Licensing Department for reimbursement.
Since insurance is a financial product, an FBI level background screening is required. This screening will check your criminal record and could look as far back as your juvenile records. It will require you to show certified court documents if you have any misdemeanor or felony charges. Additional court documents could also be needed for cases that have been sealed, expunged, or withheld. Past due taxes and child support are also considered as part of the application. Having any of these items does not deem you ineligible, that said, it is up to the state to decide if they will approve or not. If the state finds something on your background it can take 30 days or more to approve.
Everise will cover the cost for one State Exam. Taking into consideration performance and meeting target goals, a second attempt may be granted and covered by Everise.
After you pass your state exam, Everise’s Talent Acquisition team will follow up with you regarding a potential start date.
- Your start date will be determined by following the self-study agenda provided by the mentor team and passing your state exam as scheduled, meaning no delays or rescheduling.
- Since training classes are assigned on a “first come, first served” basis, it will be in your best interest to complete the COI program as soon as possible.
We are hiring for multiple clients for licensed programs and their hours of operation do vary. Your official licensed offer letter will provide you the full hours of operation for the licensed program you were assigned to. A shift bid will be done during training to provide you your official shift. It is recommended you get licensed as quickly as possible to get assigned into an early class to build performance for shift bids.
To successfully complete the pre-licensing self-study material and be ready to test within 2- 3 weeks of registering into the licensing material, the COI Mentor Team has developed the ideal progress map for your reference:
The goal is to successfully complete the pre-licensing self-study material and be ready to test within 2-3 weeks of registering into the licensing material. After passing your test the state must approve your license. This timeline can vary from state to state. The minimum time we have seen for a state to approve a license is 2 weeks, and on average the longest could be up to 6 weeks.
