People of Everise | Melani Hadzic | Limerick

Going through hardships and challenges can alter any person’s perspective in life. This is something that Melani Hadzic, a German Language Support Specialist from our Limerick Experience Center, had learned early on in her life. Today, she uses these experiences to fuel her drive in her personal and professional endeavors.

Born in a war-torn country, Melani had to leave Bosnia as a refugee and move to Germany with her family. Prior to moving in Limerick, she spent most of her formative years in Germany where she studied and learned German.

“My native language is Bosnian, but I work for the German market. I used to live in Germany. I grew up there as a child. Well because in my home country, we have a domestic war, so we moved there as refugees. And that’s where I spent the first six years of my life, went to school there, and that’s how I learned German.”

This part of her life had a significant effect on how she views life and how she interacts with other people, enabling her to empathize better with her customers.

“As a refugee, it changed my perspective of the refugees of today, for sure. It’s easier for me to communicate to people, to relate to them better, and to hear other stories. I believe I got more social with people because of the things that I experienced and because of the different countries that I lived in.”

All together, her life experience makes Melani an amazing  Support Specialist for one of the world’s largest JobTech companies. She loves the product and team that she’s working with, making her time in the office an enjoyable one.

“The most interesting aspect of my job, I think, is just being with my colleagues, with my co-workers. We do the same things. Whenever we’re stuck, we kind of communicate. We try to solve the problem together and it does feel like a family.”
